Privacy by Design

Privacy & Security

Percepta is built from the ground up to deliver insights without compromising privacy. No identification. No surveillance. Just data.

Our Privacy Principles

Every design decision starts with privacy. Here's how we protect people while delivering valuable insights.

No Facial Recognition

Our AI detects and classifies objects (vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists) but never attempts to identify individuals. No biometric data is captured or stored.

No Personal Identification

We count people and vehicles, not identities. No license plate reading. No tracking of individuals across cameras. Only aggregate statistics.

Edge Processing

All AI analysis happens on-device. Video is processed locally and never leaves the site. Only anonymised counts and statistics are synced to the cloud.

Data Minimisation

We collect only what is needed: counts, timestamps, classifications. No raw video storage. No images of people. Minimal data footprint by design.

Configurable Retention

Clients control how long data is retained. Set retention periods that meet your compliance requirements. Data can be purged on request.

Access Controls

Role-based access ensures only authorised users see your data. Multi-factor authentication. Full audit logging of portal access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Percepta use facial recognition?

No. Our AI models detect object categories (car, truck, pedestrian, cyclist) but never attempt to identify or recognise individuals. No biometric data is processed.

Is video recorded or stored?

No. Video is processed in real-time on the edge device and immediately discarded. Only anonymised event data (counts, timestamps, classifications) is stored.

Can individuals be tracked across locations?

No. Our system counts objects as they cross monitoring lines. There is no capability to track or re-identify individuals across different locations or cameras.

What data is sent to the cloud?

The computer-vision system sends only anonymised statistics: object counts by type, timestamps, direction of travel, and (for traffic) speed measurements. No images, video or identifying personal data are sent from camera analytics.

Who can access the data?

Only authorised users within your organisation. Access is controlled via role-based permissions, secured with strong authentication including MFA.

How long is data retained?

Retention periods are configurable per client. You decide how long to keep historical data. Data can be exported or purged at any time.

Website enquiries

Percepta Solutions Ltd uses the details you submit, plus limited anti-abuse data, to verify your email address, protect the form and respond to your enquiry. We do not use enquiry details for marketing without separate permission.

How we handle your information

We process your name, email address, optional company, enquiry category and message, together with short-lived IP and verification data. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a possible contract and our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and preventing misuse.

Cloudflare provides anti-abuse checks, Resend sends verification and enquiry emails, and Google hosts our business inbox. If processing occurs outside the UK, the provider's applicable adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards apply.

Unconfirmed or expired enquiries are deleted automatically. Confirmed enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting business and meet legal or record-keeping requirements. You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to legitimate-interest processing, or complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Privacy enquiries can be sent through our secure contact form.
